David Hockney made the series Paper Pools during 6 weeks in 1978 at the master printer Kenneth Tyler's studio in upstate New York. 29 Paper Pool images were produced using paper pulp; dyed wet pulped rags applied onto wet paper. The technique enabled Hockney to depict the fleeting image of water in motion.
