Numbered edition of 400 pieces, created in 1957.
Each foulard is numbered by hand, manufactured by Galleria del Cavallino in Venice. The gallery was founded in 1942 by Carlo Cardazzo, a visionary gallerist and art collector who enjoyed close-knit relationships with many of the greatest international post-war artists and who also collaborated with Peggy Guggenheim.   
Galleria del Cavallino created a series of art foulards with international artists, from Sonia Delaunay to Lucio Fontana.

Franco Gentilini (1909-1981) was an Italian artist widely exhibited throughout his career, beginning in 1930 when the jury of the Venice Biennale selects one of his paintings. His work is characterized by a distinct style combining painting and drawing.
