1930's, France
Ceramicist Paul Jacquet (1883-1968) founded his ceramic workshop in 1913. From the 1920's, he started collaborating with Primavera and artists such as Francis Jourdain and Rene Herbst. He gained international renown - and a gold medal at the Exposition des Art Décoratifs in Paris in 1925 - for his sophisticated, geometric patterns and floral designs inspired by ancient civilisation and African art amongst others.
