L'Atelier Primavera was founded in 1912 by René Guilleré, a lawyer with a passionate interest and flair for fine art, music and poetry. To protect the decorative arts from bad reproductions and poor quality, he founded Primavera, who supplied the Printemps department store with decorative art objects. After purchasing the Faïencerie de Sainte-Redegonde, L'Atelier Primavera was able to commission young, innovative ceramicists to create some of the most beautiful ceramics of the 20th century.
