Roland Beaufre studied art and architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He lives between France and Morocco, photographing people and interiors for international publications such as World of Interiors, Architectural Digest and New York Times Magazine. 

The photograph was taken in Eileen Grays former apartment on 21, rue Bonaparte in Paris. An admirer of Eileen Gray bought the apartment in 1989 and brought it back to its former glory, furnishing it like it was under Eileen Gray's occupation. A subsequent owner added more 1930's pieces and allowed World of Interiors and Roland Beaufre to photograph the apartment.
